SECTION 28-31.1-1

   § 28-31.1-1  Fund established. – (a) There is established in the department of administration of the state ofRhode Island a special account to be known as the state employees' compensationfund, an account within the general fund. The account, referred to as the"state employees' compensation fund", shall consist of payments made to it assubsequently provided, or penalties paid pursuant to this chapter, and of allother money paid into and received by the fund, or property and securitiesacquired by and through the use of money belonging to the fund, and of interestearned upon the money belonging to the fund. All money in the fund shall bemingled and undivided. The fund shall be administered by the director ofadministration or the director's designee.

   (b) The fund shall be used for the settlement of claimspursuant to § 28-31-4.
