SECTION 28-39-24

   § 28-39-24  False representations to avoidcontributions – Failure to produce evidence – Inducing waiver ofrights. – Any individual, or employing unit or its agent, who willfully makes a falsestatement or representation to avoid becoming or remaining subject thereto, orto avoid or reduce any contribution or other payment required of an employingunit under chapters 39 – 41 of this title, or who willfully fails orrefuses to appear or to testify or produce records as lawfully requiredhereunder, or who tries to induce any individual to waive any right under thosechapters, shall upon conviction be punished by a fine of not less than twentydollars ($20.00) nor more than two hundred dollars ($200), or by imprisonmentnot longer than sixty (60) days, or by both. that fine and imprisonment. Eachfalse statement or representation, and each day of that failure or refusal,shall constitute a separate and distinct offense. If the employer in questionis a corporation, every officer of the corporation who knowingly participatesin any violation specified in this section shall be subject to these penalties.
