§ 28-42-79 - Disbursements from tardy account fund – Unexpended balance.

SECTION 28-42-79

   § 28-42-79  Disbursements from tardyaccount fund – Unexpended balance. – (a) The moneys in the tardy account fund shall be used solely for the followingpurposes:

   (1) To make refunds of penalties erroneously collected anddeposited in the fund; and

   (2) To maintain essential department programs.

   (b) The general treasurer shall pay all vouchers duly drawnby the director upon the fund, in any amounts and in any manner that thedirector may prescribe. Vouchers so drawn upon the fund shall be referred tothe controller within the department of administration. Upon receipt of thesevouchers, the controller shall immediately record and sign them and shallpromptly transfer the signed vouchers to the general treasurer. Theseexpenditures shall be used solely for the purposes specified in this section,and its balances shall not lapse at any time.
