SECTION 28-44-58

   § 28-44-58  Exemption of benefits fromassignment or process. – Benefits which are due or may become due under chapters 42 – 44 of thistitle shall not be assigned, pledged, or encumbered before payment; and whenawarded, adjudged, or paid, so long as they are not mingled with other funds ofthe recipient, shall be exempt from all claims of creditors, and from levy,execution, and attachment or other remedy now or subsequently provided forrecovery or collection of debt, which exemption may not be waived.
