SECTION 31-10-16

   § 31-10-16  Liability when minor provesfinancial responsibility. – In the event a minor deposits or there is deposited upon the minor's behalfproof of financial responsibility in respect to the operation of a motorvehicle owned by the minor, or if not the owner of a motor vehicle, then withrespect to the operation of any motor vehicle, in form and in amounts asrequired under the motor vehicle financial responsibility laws of this state,then the division of motor vehicles may accept the application of the minorwhen signed by a parent or guardian of the minor or other responsible adult,and while that proof is maintained the parent or guardian or responsible adultshall not be subject to the liability imposed under § 31-10-15.
