SECTION 31-10-8

   § 31-10-8  Special armed forces operator'slicense. – The administrator of the division of motor vehicles is authorized to issue aspecial form of motor vehicle operator's license, at no fee, to any personserving in the armed forces of the United States who at the time of his or herentrance into the armed forces was a legal resident of Rhode Island and theholder of a valid license. The special license shall be valid during the termof the person's period of service and for thirty (30) days thereafter unlesssooner cancelled, suspended, or revoked for cause, and the person shall, whileoperating a motor vehicle upon the public highways, carry the special licenseupon his or her person and shall also carry upon his or her person conclusiveevidence of the fact that he or she is a member of the armed forces of theUnited States.
