SECTION 31-13-5

   § 31-13-5  Signs prerequisite toenforcement of provisions. – No provision of chapters 12 – 27 of this title for which signs arerequired shall be enforced against an alleged violator if, at the time andplace of the alleged violation, an official sign is not in proper position andsufficiently legible to be seen by an ordinarily observant person. Whenever aparticular section does not state that signs are required, the section shall beeffective even though no signs are erected or in place.
