§ 31-23-7 - Brakes on motor-driven cycles.

SECTION 31-23-7

   § 31-23-7  Brakes on motor-driven cycles.– (a) The administrator of the division of motor vehicles is authorized torequire an inspection of the brake on any motor-driven cycle and to disapproveany brake which he or she finds will not comply with the performance abilitystandard set forth in § 31-23-5, or which in his or her opinion is notdesigned or constructed as to insure reasonable and reliable performance inactual use.

   (b) The administrator of the division of motor vehicles mayrefuse to register or may suspend or revoke the registration of any vehiclereferred to in this section when he or she determines that the brake on it doesnot comply with the provisions of this section.

   (c) No person shall operate on any highway any vehiclereferred to in this section in the event the administrator of the division ofmotor vehicles has disapproved the brake equipment upon the vehicle or type ofvehicle.
