§ 31-25-27.1 - Weight restrictions on the Veterans Memorial Parkway – East Providence.
SECTION 31-25-27.1
§ 31-25-27.1 Weight restrictions on theVeterans Memorial Parkway – East Providence. – (a) No motor vehicle with a gross weight exceeding two (2) tons except thoselisted in this section shall be allowed to travel the Veterans Memorial Parkwayin the city of East Providence.
(b) The director of the department of revenue is directed topost signs to limit access as prescribed in subsection (a) of this section.
(c) The following vehicles shall be exempt from theprovisions of this section: vehicles of a fire department, police vehicles,corrections vehicles, ambulances, emergency vehicles, state vehicles, municipalvehicles, vehicles of the Rhode Island public transit authority, marked schooladministration vehicles, and delivery vehicles whose destination is addressedon the parkway.
(d) The department of revenue or local authority isauthorized in accordance with the provisions of § 31-25-23 to issue orwithhold permits to all vehicles other than those enumerated in this section.
