   § 31-27-14  Penalty for felonies. –Any person who is convicted of a violation of any provision of chapters 1– 27of this title, by this chapter or by the laws of this state declaredto constitute a felony, shall be punished by imprisonment for not less than oneyear nor more than five (5) years, or by a fine of not more than five thousanddollars ($5,000), or by both fine and imprisonment.
