SECTION 31-3-2.2

   § 31-3-2.2  Registration of motorcycles,motorized bicycles, and motorized tricycles. – (a) Every motorcycle, motorized bicycle, and motorized tricycle owned by aresident of this state shall be subject to the registration provisions ofchapters 3 – 9 of this title whether the motorcycle, motorized bicycle, ormotorized tricycle is operated or drawn upon a highway within this state orupon private property. An electric personal assistive mobility device ("EPAMD")and electric motorized bicycles shall not be required to register under thischapter; provided, however, that an EPAMD and/or electric motorized bicyclesshall not be operated in this state by a person under the age of sixteen (16)years.

   (b) Notwithstanding any general law to the contrary, citiesand towns are empowered to enact ordinances that permit the use and regulationof electric personal assistive mobility devices ("EPAMD").
