SECTION 31-3-81

   § 31-3-81  General state officers emeritus.– The administrator of the division of motor vehicles is authorized and directedupon request to issue a special registration plate in recognition of honorableservice to the state of a former state general officer for the privatepassenger motor vehicle of said officer to bear the identification of "GovernorEmeritus", "Lieutenant Governor Emeritus", "Treasurer Emeritus", "Secretary ofState Emeritus", or "Attorney General Emeritus", whichever applies, along withan appropriate number and the seal of the state imprinted on it. The plateshall be furnished without an additional registration charge for such period asthe qualified former general officer so desires.
