SECTION 31-31-17

   § 31-31-17  Decrease in amount of security.– The division of motor vehicles may reduce the amount of security ordered in anycase within six (6) months after the date of the accident if in its judgmentthe amount ordered is excessive. In case the security originally ordered hasbeen deposited, the excess deposit over the reduced amount ordered shall beimmediately returned to the depositor or the depositor's personalrepresentative.
