SECTION 31-31-4

   § 31-31-4  Application of chapter. –The provisions of this chapter requiring a deposit of security and suspensionsfor failure to deposit security, subject to certain exemptions, shall apply tothe driver and owner of any vehicle of a type subject to registration under themotor vehicle laws of this state, which is in any manner involved in anaccident within this state, which accident has resulted in bodily injury to ordeath of any person or damage to the property of any one person in excess offive hundred dollars ($500).
