SECTION 31-32-21

   § 31-32-21  Certificate of insurance asproof. – Proof of financial responsibility for the future may be furnished by filingwith the division of motor vehicles the written certificate of any insurancecarrier duly authorized to do business in this state certifying that there isin effect a motor vehicle liability policy for the benefit of the personrequired to furnish proof of financial responsibility. The certificate shallgive the effective date of the motor vehicle liability policy, which date shallbe the same as the effective date of the certificate, and shall designate byexplicit description or by appropriate reference all vehicles covered by it,unless the policy is issued to a person who is not the owner of a motor vehicle.
