SECTION 31-32-3

   § 31-32-3  Definitions. – The following words and phrases when used in this chapter for the purpose ofthis chapter, have the meanings respectively ascribed to them in this section:

   (1) "Judgment" means any judgment which shall have becomefinal by expiration without appeal of the time within which an appeal mighthave been perfected, or by final affirmation on appeal, rendered by a court ofcompetent jurisdiction of any state or of the United States, upon a cause ofaction arising out of the ownership, maintenance, or use of any vehicle of atype subject to registration under the laws of this state, for damages,including damages for care and loss of services, because of bodily injury to ordeath of any person, or for damages because of injury to or destruction ofproperty, including the loss of use of it, or upon a cause of action on anagreement of settlement for the damages.

   (2) "State" means any state, territory, or possession of theUnited States, the District of Columbia, or any province of the Dominion ofCanada.
