SECTION 31-38-14

   § 31-38-14  Vehicles exempt frominspections. – (a) The following vehicles shall be exempt from inspections:

   (1) All trailers or semi-trailers having a gross weight ofone thousand pounds (1,000 lbs.) or less;

   (2) Any special mobile equipment which is not required to beregistered; and

   (3) Vehicles that are limited in their scope of operation asdetermined by the director of the department of revenue.

   (b) The exemption in this section does not relieve the ownerof the vehicle from the obligation of having a safe vehicle on the publichighways.
