SECTION 31-40-11

   § 31-40-11  Construction of chapter. –Nothing in this chapter shall be construed as amending, modifying, or repealingany existing law of Rhode Island or any existing ordinance of any city or townrelating to the operation of motor vehicles, the licensing of persons tooperate motor vehicles, or providing penalties for the violation of provisionsregarding them, or shall be construed to preclude the exercise of theregulatory powers of any division, agency, department, or political subdivisionof the state having the statutory power to regulate this operation andlicensing.
