SECTION 31-47-1

   § 31-47-1  Short title and declaration ofpurpose. – (a) This chapter shall be known and may be cited as the "Motor VehicleReparation Act."

   (b) The legislature is concerned over the rising toll ofmotor vehicle accidents and the suffering and loss inflicted by them. Thelegislature has determined that it is a matter of grave concern that motoristsshall be financially able to respond in damages for their negligent acts, sothat innocent victims of motor vehicle accidents may be recompensed for theinjury and financial loss inflicted upon them.
