SECTION 31-47-3

   § 31-47-3  Regulations authorized –Access to court and agency records. – (a) The administrator of the division of motor vehicles is authorized topromulgate reasonable regulations to provide effective administration andenforcement of the provisions of this chapter.

   (b) Notwithstanding any contrary provisions of this or anyother law of this state, the administrator of the division of motor vehicles,for the purpose of carrying out the provisions of this chapter, shall haveaccess to the records of the family court and all other courts and agenciesconcerning motor vehicle violations of any person who has applied for motorvehicle liability insurance. Upon request of the insurance company to whichapplication has been made, the administrator of the division of motor vehiclesshall make available to the insurance company any information concerning motorvehicle violations of the applicant.
