§ 31-48-3 - Offenses committed.

SECTION 31-48-3

   § 31-48-3  Offenses committed. – (a) Any person who knowingly and with intent: (1) owns, operates, or conducts achop shop; (2) transports any motor vehicle or motor vehicle part to or from alocation knowing it to be a chop shop; or (3) sells, transfers, purchases, orreceives any motor vehicle or motor vehicle part either to or from a locationknowing it to be a chop shop, shall, upon conviction, be guilty of a felony.

   (b) Any person who is convicted of an offense under thissection may be imprisoned for up to five (5) years for each offense, and shallbe fined up to fifty thousand dollars ($50,000) but not less than two thousanddollars ($2,000) for each offense.
