§ 31-5.1-3 - Unlawful acts and practices.
SECTION 31-5.1-3
§ 31-5.1-3 Unlawful acts and practices.– (a) Unfair methods of competition, and unfair or deceptive acts or practices,as defined in this chapter, are declared to be unlawful.
(b) In construing subsection (a) of this section, the courtsmay be guided by the interpretations of § 45 of the Federal TradeCommission Act (15 U.S.C. § 45), as from time to time amended.
(c) The department of revenue (hereinafter in this chapter,the "department") may make rules and regulations interpreting the provisions ofsubsection (a) of this section. The rules and regulations shall not beinconsistent with the rules, regulations, and decisions of the Federal TradeCommission and the federal courts interpreting the provisions of the FederalTrade Commission Act (15 U.S.C. § 45), as from time to time amended.
