§ 34-28-2 - Improvements by consent of tenant or lessee.

SECTION 34-28-2

   § 34-28-2  Improvements by consent oftenant or lessee. – Whenever any building, canal, turnpike, railroad, or other improvement shall beconstructed, erected, altered, or repaired by oral or written contract with orat the oral or written request of any lessee or tenant thereof, or by thehusband of the lessee or tenant with the consent of his wife, the interest andtitle of the lessee or tenant in the building, canal, turnpike, railroad, orother improvement, and in the land on which the improvement is located, shallstand subject to liens for all the work done by any person in the construction,erection, alteration, or reparation of the building, canal, turnpike, railroador other improvement, and for the materials used in the construction, erection,alteration, or reparation thereof, which have been furnished by any person, butnot the interest or title of the landlord of such lessee or tenant, unless theconsent in writing of the landlord is first obtained, assenting to theconstruction, erection, alteration, or reparation.
