   § 34-28-34  Definitions. – (a) "Construction, erection, alteration or reparation" and "constructed,erected, altered or repaired," as used in this chapter, means excavation anddemolition preparatory to actual construction, erection, alteration, orreparation, except where used in the phrase "actual and visible commencement,by excavation or otherwise, of such construction, erection, alteration orreparation," in §§ 34-28-7 and 34-28-10, which phrase shall beconstrued to include the excavation or otherwise, but not demolition.

   (b) "Mortgage" as used in this chapter means constructionmortgages, so called, which are given to secure the payment of a sum certainwhich is to be advanced at stated times or intervals.

   (c) "Person" as used in this chapter means corporations,partnerships, or other organizations or entities, except that the words"individual person" means only a natural person.
