§ 35-11-2 - Facsimile signature. - Rhode Island Statutes

SECTION 35-11-2

   § 35-11-2  Facsimile signature. – (a) Any authorized officer may execute or cause to be executed with a facsimilesignature in lieu of his or her manual signature any:

   (1) Public security; provided, that at least one signaturerequired or permitted to be placed thereon, which may be the signature of anauthorized signer of a bank, trust company or other banking or financialinstitution action as trustee, authenticating agent, transfer agent, or similaragent, shall be manually subscribed; and

   (2) Instrument of payment.

   (b) The facsimile signature of an authorized officer has thesame legal effect as his or her manual signature.
