SECTION 35-4-25

   § 35-4-25  Funds attributable to agencybusiness operations. – State agencies which operate business-like enterprises at the stateinstitutions shall maintain the funds attributable to these operations inaccounts within the general fund. All funds received by the department ofcorrections, the department of mental health, retardation, and hospitals, andthe department of children, youth, and families from these operations shall bedeposited as general revenues. The agency shall, through the annual budgetprocess, report to the general assembly the estimated amount for the nextfiscal year, together with the intended use of the funds. Nothing contained inthis section, however, shall conflict with the powers and duties granted theboard of governors for higher education and the board of regents for elementaryand secondary education in chapters 59 and 60 of title 16.
