SECTION 35-6-24

   § 35-6-24  Certification of fees forsummoning state witnesses. – The sheriff or deputy sheriff shall certify in one of the books, under theproper title of the case and the division thereof to which his or her feesapply, the amount of his or her fees for summoning each witness in behalf ofthe state, the number of miles he or she has traveled in making service, andthe amount due him or her therefor, together with the amount and items of allother fees due him or her for serving other criminal process in behalf of thestate, which amount he or she may receive for the use of the state, afterreceipting therefor in the book, under the proper title of the case on accountof which the fees are due.
