SECTION 35-6-7

   § 35-6-7  Forfeiture on failure to accountor pay money into treasury. – Every clerk, officer, or other person who shall neglect or refuse to account tothe department of administration as required by § 35-6-6, or shall neglector refuse to pay into the state treasury any money belonging to the state, atthe time when the money ought to be paid, shall forfeit thrice the amount ofthe money so withheld or not paid, to be recovered in an action of debt, in thename of the general treasurer, for the use of the state.
