§ 35-8.1-9 - Supplementary powers.

SECTION 35-8.1-9

   § 35-8.1-9  Supplementary powers. –In addition to any other powers granted in this chapter, the authority has thepower to:

   (1) Conduct examinations and hearings and hear testimony andtake proof, under oath or affirmation, at public or private hearings, on anymatter material for its information and necessary to carry out the terms ofthis chapter;

   (2) Issue subpoenas, necessary to carry out the terms of thischapter, requiring the attendance of witnesses and the production of books andpapers pertinent to any hearing before the authority, or before one or more ofthe members of the authority appointed by it to conduct the hearing; and

   (3) Apply to any court, having territorial jurisdiction ofthe offense, to have punished for contempt any witness who refuses to obey asubpoena, or who refuses to be sworn or affirmed to testify, or who is guiltyof any contempt after summons to appear.
