SECTION 36-1-5
§ 36-1-5 Certificate of election of UnitedStates senators. – The governor shall give a certificate of the election of senators from thisstate, under the seal of the state, to the president of the senate of theUnited States, which certificate shall be countersigned by the secretary ofstate.
