SECTION 36-1-8
§ 36-1-8 Tenure of officers elected bygeneral assembly. – All persons who have been or may hereafter be legally elected to any office bythe general assembly shall severally continue in and hold their respectiveoffices for and during the term for which they were severally elected and untiltheir respective successors are elected and qualified to act.
