SECTION 37-16-20

   § 37-16-20  Court order modifying orcorrecting award. – In any of the following cases, the court must make an order modifying orcorrecting the award, upon the application of any party to the contract by theterms of which the arbitration was held.

   (1) Where there was an evident miscalculation of figures oran evident mistake in the description of any persons, thing, or propertyreferred to in the award.

   (2) Where the arbitrator or arbitrators have awarded upon amatter not submitted to them, not affecting the merits of the decision upon thematter submitted.

   (3) Where the award is imperfect in a matter of form notaffecting the merits of the controversy, and, if it had been a master's reportthe defect could have been amended or disregarded by the court.
