   § 37-2.2-1  Short title and purpose. –This chapter shall be known as the "Disability Business Enterprises Act." Thepurpose of this chapter is to carry out the state's policy of supporting thefullest possible participation of small disadvantaged businesses owned andcontrolled by persons with disabilities or where sixty percent (60%) of thework hours or direct labor is performed by employees who are persons withdisabilities, or non-profit rehabilitation facilities in state funded and statedirected public construction, public projects, and in state purchases of goodsand services. This includes assisting disadvantaged disability businesses andnon-profit rehabilitation facilities throughout the life of contracts in whichthey participate.
