SECTION 37-7-1

   § 37-7-1  Rental of acquired land pendingapplication to public use. – The acquiring authority with the approval of the state properties committee isauthorized, whenever title to land and other real property is acquired by thestate by purchase, gift, devise, or condemnation, to rent the land or anybuilding or buildings thereon not reserved by the vendor, donor, or devisoruntil the use of the land or the removal of the structures becomes necessary tothe purpose for which the land or other real property is acquired. The amountto be charged for rental shall in each instance be approved by the statepurchasing agent and the receipts therefor shall be deposited with the generaltreasurer.
