SECTION 39-14-8

   § 39-14-8  Base of operations of limitedpublic vehicles. – A limited public motor vehicle may only be operated from private property ifthe property is owned by the owner of the vehicle or is used exclusively forthe purpose of transportation of passengers for hire and is leased by the ownerof the vehicle; but no vehicle shall be operated from any taxicab stand on anypublic highway; nor shall the operator thereof transport any passenger for hireunless the transportation is requested by the passenger at an office of theowner of the vehicle, either personally or by telephone.
