§ 39-3-12.1 - Information required of water utility. - Rhode Island Statutes

SECTION 39-3-12.1

   § 39-3-12.1  Information required of waterutility. – (a) Notwithstanding any other provisions of this chapter, no water company,supplier, or water utility regulated by the commission shall be allowed to fileits rate schedules or notice of changes in rates unless it shall also file astatement containing the following information:

   (1) The status of its physical plant, including the volume ofits water supply and the source of the supply.

   (2) The maintenance policy of the utility, to include thedate distribution pipes were last installed, and the length of pipe installedfor at least a ten (10) year duration.

   (3) The name and cost of each chemical introduced into thewater supply during the most recent six (6) month period, including the amountused, and the purpose for the use.

   (4) The policy of the utility toward future expansion andrenovation of the physical plant, including the amount of funds expended withinthe preceding year and expected to be expended within the next year forexpansion, renovation, equipment purchase, and/or research and development.

   (b) Copies of the statements will be filed with the city andtown councils of those cities and towns serviced by the utility.
