SECTION 39-7-11

   § 39-7-11  Maintenance of margins on yardtracks. – (a) In order to provide railroad employees a reasonably safe place to work, itshall be the duty of all persons, firms, or corporations engaged in theoperation of railroads in this state to keep and maintain those marginsalongside their yard tracks, except designated clean out and repair tracks,where the railroad employees are required to walk frequently in the course oftheir duties, reasonably free from debris and vegetation which unreasonablyaffects the safety of the employees while working. This section shall beenforced by the public utilities administrator upon complaint and after duehearing.

   (b) Any violation of the provisions of this section shall bedeemed a misdemeanor, punishable by a fine of not less than one hundred dollars($100) but not more than five hundred dollars ($500) for each separate offense.
