SECTION 4-1-25

   § 4-1-25  Appropriations for prevention ofcruelty – Payments to society. – The general assembly shall annually appropriate any sum it deems necessary, outof any money in the treasury not otherwise appropriated, to be expended underthe direction of the director of environmental management, for the purpose ofpreventing cruelty to animals, and the director may pay that sum to the RhodeIsland society for the prevention of cruelty to animals for that purpose, andthe state controller is authorized to draw his or her orders upon the generaltreasurer for the payment of any sum appropriated, or so much of the sum as maybe required, upon receipt by him or her of proper vouchers approved by thedirector.
