SECTION 4-9-4

   § 4-9-4  Orders for products containingliving organisms. – The selling, giving, or distribution of vaccines, or biological productscontaining living organisms to be used for the immunization of cattle againsttuberculosis, glanders or other diseases is prohibited, except as provided. Anorder of a doctor of medicine or graduate veterinarian, who has been admittedby the representative state board to practice in Rhode Island, shall accompanythe order for the material, with a statement containing the name and address ofthe owner of the animals it is proposed to treat and the object of thetreatment and the doctor or veterinarian shall state over his or her signaturethat he or she will be personally responsible for the proper use of thevaccinating material or other biological products. The original of the ordershall be kept on file by the vendor or distributor, and a copy of the ordershall be filed by him or her with the director of environmental management.
