   § 40.1-21-11  References to director orassistant director of social welfare. – Whenever, in any general or special law, reference is or shall be made to thedirector of social welfare or the assistant director of social welfare forcurative services pertaining to the Doctor Joseph H. Ladd Center, programs, andservices for people who are mentally retarded, the reference shall mean, and beconstrued to mean the director of mental health, retardation, and hospitals.
