SECTION 40-2-12

   § 40-2-12  Protection of health ofresidents. – In exercising the power and authority to provide for the care and physicalwelfare of the inmates, prisoners, patients, and pupils in the severalinstitutions under its control and for the protection of the public health, thedepartment of human services shall furnish all necessary medical aid andattention, and shall take all necessary steps to promote the health of theinmates, prisoners, patients, and pupils, and especially to guard them and thegeneral public against all dangerous, infectious, and contagious diseases atthe institutions.
