SECTION 40-5-4

   § 40-5-4  Manner of relief in Providence.– The city council of the city of Providence may prescribe the mode in which, andextent to which, the director of public welfare of the city shall affordtemporary relief to poor and indigent persons who are not supported andemployed in the asylum, or other tenements belonging to or used by the city.
