   § 40-8.4-8  Appropriations. – Authorization to pay for health care. The general assembly shallannually appropriate to the department of human services such sums as it maydeem necessary to carry out the purposes of this chapter. Authorization to payfor health care services specified in this chapter shall be made byrepresentatives of the department of human services, and the state controlleris hereby authorized and directed to draw his or her orders upon the generaltreasurer for the payment of such sum or sums or so much thereof as may berequired from time to time, upon the receipt by him or her of properlyauthenticated vouchers; provided, however, that the department of humanservices may enter into cooperative agreements for the transfer of funds toeffectuate the purposes set forth in this chapter.
