SECTION 41-10-2

   § 41-10-2  City elections on establishmentof off track betting. – (a) Notwithstanding any other provisions of law, before an off track bettingfacility shall be established in the city of Pawtucket, the question "Shall anoff track betting facility be located in the city of Pawtucket, the stateproceeds from which shall be paid directly to the cities and towns for therelief of property taxes?"

   (b) This resolution shall be placed on the ballot at the nextgeneral election to be submitted to the qualified electors of the city ofPawtucket, and the state.

   (c) The question shall be submitted by the local board ofcanvassers to the electors of the city of Pawtucket, and the results of theelection shall be certified to the secretary of state;

   (d) The question shall be submitted by the secretary of stateto the qualified electors of the state at the same general election and thesecretary of state shall certify the election results;

   (e) The affirmative vote of the city of Pawtucket and theelectors of the state shall be necessary for the approval of the question, andif such consent be thus given, all further regulations shall rest with thedivision of racing and athletics.
