   § 41-3-15  Penalty for unauthorized racing.– Any person aiding or abetting in the conduct of any meeting within this stateat which racing of horses shall be permitted for any stake, purse, or reward,except in accordance with a license duly issued and unsuspended or un-revokedby the division of racing and athletics, shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, andupon conviction, shall be punished by a fine of not more than five hundreddollars ($500) for each day of the unauthorized meeting or by imprisonment fornot exceeding six (6) months, or both a fine and imprisonment, in thediscretion of the court.
