SECTION 42-10-3

   § 42-10-3  Deputy treasurers –Appointment and bond. – The general treasurer is hereby empowered, from time to time, to appoint one ormore deputies under him or her who shall be engaged to the faithful performanceof his or her duties, and shall, before entering the duties of his or heroffice, give bond to the state with sufficient sureties to the satisfaction ofthe governor, in the sum of five hundred thousand dollars ($500,000) for thetrue and faithful performance of the duties of his or her office; which bondshall be deposited with and kept by the secretary of state. The generaltreasurer shall be liable for any misconduct, neglect, or default of thosedeputies.
