SECTION 42-106-1

   § 42-106-1  Rhode Island aqua fundlegislative findings. – The general assembly finds and declares that a multiple-purpose, comprehensiveand concentrated approach is required to focus state and federal resources onthe enormous environmental problems associated with cleansing Rhode Island'sgreatest natural resource, Narragansett Bay. It further finds that such anapproach will include efforts at pretreatment of industrial waste, sediment andsludge abatement and remedy, storm water sewer retrofitting, urban runoffabatement, non-point source pollution reduction, waste water treatmentupgrading, and cooperation with neighboring states among others; and that theseefforts are necessary to meet the clean water goals of the citizens of RhodeIsland.
