SECTION 42-11-2.1

   § 42-11-2.1  Filling of certain educationalvacancies. – Notwithstanding the authority of either the board of regents for elementary andsecondary education, the board of governors for higher education, or theappointing authorities of the several colleges and institutions within thejurisdiction of the board of governors for higher education, or any general orpublic law to the contrary, the director of administration shall be notified bythe aforesaid authorities of their vacant positions in the classified serviceof the state and he or she shall give his or her approval thereto in writingbefore those vacancies may be filled.
