§ 42-12-1.2 - Transfer of functions from the former department of social welfare. - Rhode Island Statutes

SECTION 42-12-1.2

   § 42-12-1.2  Transfer of functions from theformer department of social welfare. – There are hereby transferred to the director of the department of humanservices:

   (1) Those functions of the former department of socialwelfare which were administered through or with respect to the division ofcorrectional services to include generally and specifically, the correctionalinstitutions, the probation services and other similar functions (titles 8, 12,13 and 40); and the division of community services to include generally andspecifically the administration of all forms of relief, child welfare servicesand other related services (titles 8, 14, 30 and 40);

   (2) All functions of the division of correctional servicesand division of community services formerly of the department of social welfareincluding the administration of interstate compacts and of all other officers,employees, agencies, advisory councils, committees or commissions of thedivision of correctional services and division of community services;

   (3) So much of other functions or parts of functions of theformer director of the department of social welfare as is incidental to ornecessary for the performance of the functions transferred by subdivisions (1)and (2).
