   § 42-124-3  Organization and terms. –(a) Forthwith upon the passage of this chapter, the members of the commissionshall meet at the call of the speaker of the house and organize and shallselect from among its members a chairperson.

   (b) Legislative appointments shall continue for the electedterm and terminate upon non-election. All other appointments shall be for three(3) years on a staggered basis. Initial terms shall be determined by lot at thefirst meeting. Vacancies in the commission shall be filled in the same manneras the original appointment.
